In this project involved 9 companies that represent approximately 70% of the national production.<\/p><p>The #melanosis muscle, is an injury that affects the three salmonid species farmed in Chile, but with a special intensity to the atlantic salmon. Is variable at 3 growing regions of southern Chile (X, XI and XII regions), reaching a high incidence (in some cases up to 40%) in some centers of culture, generating a high economic impact for companies, because of losses due to degradation of the product, removal of the affected portion, and an increase of the process time.<\/p><p>In relation to the variables of risk, is considered as a presentation box multifactorial, where it is likely to be associated with different risk factors (trauma, handling, diet, infectious diseases, etc), which can have an impact on the presentation of different types of melanosis observed. Even when the inflammatory process has been addressed by various groups of researchers, both in Chile and in other producing countries, has not yet been generated sufficient evidence to identify the factors of risk and\/or protective specific in the presentation of each pattern of melanosis muscle.<\/p><p>Our company proposed an approach to the problem similar to the one used in projects #Caligus and SRS, which is based on the generation of knowledge from a collaborative and continuous between the producers, focused on the lifting of standardized information for each company with the objective to characterize the clinical picture, assess the factors associated through epidemiological studies and coordinate the development activities of R &amp; D experts in the area.<\/p><p>Visit us on our social networks LINKEDIN<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Proyecto Melanosis 2022 #Aquabench\u00a0ha iniciado en mayo de 2022 un proyecto que tiene como objetivo identificar factores asociados a la presentaci\u00f3n de melanosis muscular en salmones de cultivo y definir medidas para disminuir su presentaci\u00f3n. En este proyecto participan 9 empresas productoras que representan aproximadamente el 70% de la producci\u00f3n nacional. La\u00a0#melanosis\u00a0muscular es una lesi\u00f3n que afecta a las tres especies de salm\u00f3nidos cultivados en Chile, pero con especial intensidad al salm\u00f3n del atl\u00e1ntico. Se presenta de forma variable en las 3 regiones de cultivo del sur de Chile (X, XI y XII regiones) alcanzando alta incidencia (en algunos casos hasta un 40%) en algunos centros de cultivo, generando un alto impacto econ\u00f3mico para las empresas productoras debido a p\u00e9rdidas por degradaci\u00f3n del producto, remoci\u00f3n de porci\u00f3n afectada e incremento del tiempo de proceso. En relaci\u00f3n con las variables de riesgo, es considerada como un cuadro de presentaci\u00f3n multifactorial, donde probablemente se asocian distintos factores de riesgo (traumatismos, manejos, dieta, enfermedades infecciosas, etc.), los cuales pueden incidir en la presentaci\u00f3n de los distintos tipos de melanosis observadas. Aun cuando este proceso inflamatorio ha sido abordado por variados grupos de investigadores, tanto en Chile como en otros pa\u00edses productores, a\u00fan no se ha generado suficiente evidencia que permita identificar los factores de riesgo y\/o protectivos espec\u00edficos en la presentaci\u00f3n de cada patr\u00f3n de melanosis muscular. Nuestra empresa propuso un acercamiento al problema similar al utilizado en los proyectos\u00a0#Caligus\u00a0y SRS, el cual se basa en la generaci\u00f3n de conocimiento a partir de un trabajo colaborativo y continuo entre los productores, enfocado en levantar informaci\u00f3n estandarizada por cada empresa con el objetivo de caracterizar el cuadro cl\u00ednico, evaluar los factores asociados mediante estudios epidemiol\u00f3gicos y coordinar el desarrollo de actividades de I+D con expertos en el \u00e1rea.
